It's hard to tell when was the time people invented mailbox. On
Wikipedia, it says the first public
mailboxes in Russia appeared in 13'th December 1848, they were made of wood and iron. But because these boxes were lightweight and easy to steal, they disappeared frequently. Because of that, future mailboxes were made of cast iron and could weigh 40 kilograms.
Anyway, mailbox is a great way to collect coming mails. People can receive mails safely even when they are not home and postmen can quickly and easily deliver mails without knocking everybody's door.
Although a mailbox contains only a slot and a box, it could be a work of art. You can change its color from the traditional green to any color you enjoy. You can design it based on a cartoon or an animal figure. You can also choose the most fashion materials to make it. What's more, the
residential mailboxes is totally different from those
commercial mailboxes, while there are both plenty of amazing design for them.
Everyday back home or go for work, you will pass the mailbox right in front of any house. So, the design of mailbox may impact your mood for a whole day.
