From Gordon’s comments on my blog entry of “Google your PC“, I think about one thing, that is, why I love google? I agree with Gordon that google does not create any new technology by itself. The page rank is said to got from founder of baidu. And pdf, word content searching is not leading technology. As for crawler, it has a longer history than google itself. So why I still love google and count on google? From Gordon’s blog, I do believe I find the answer, it’s all about “customer experience”. You love google because it’s “ Beyond Expectation & Differentiate Yourself“. It’s just like you prefer one bookstore or shopping mall, why? Because they give you the unique experience.

It’s not about technology, on the contrary, it’s all about customer experience, selling & marketing. So to be a good technical engineer, you still need some knowledge on sales and marketing.

And when you look at the furture, when most documents are “intellegent documents”, the search should be at another level. We can’t predict who will be the winner of that battle. But for now, I still count on google. Because it gives me more than I want and it use the least “what if” or “supposing”
