Access Log
With the Squarespace acess log, will be able to see exactly who has been accessing your site, when they accessed your site, where they came to your site from, and what they accessed.
Additionally, Squarespace allows you to programmatically filter these logs and remove entries that are obsolete or irrelevant. This enables you to gain a quick and accurate view of the exact log data you are interested in. You will also be automatically provided with search engine statistics, frequent user lists, and lists of sites that are linking to yours.
Host Management
Host management gives you a means to restrict certain clients from your site, or remove certain clients from your logs based on an ip/domain.
XML-RPC Pinging
XML-RPC Pinging will let you automatically notify multiple website indicies about new posts to your web log. This allows you to instantly gain more exposure for your blog entries, without any additional effort. Unlike other services, Squarespace issues these pings in the background, so you never have to wait while posting to your website.
XML-RPC Blogging
Squarespace provides an XML-RPC endpoint that allows you to edit your blog from any metaWeblogAPI compatible client. These clients give you an offline editor which can make blog entry editing and publishing a snap.
RSS Enclosures (Podcasting)
Squarespace lets you easily include attachments to your journal entries. These entries are automatically embedded in your RSS feeds so that you can send podcasts to your subscribers.
Spell Checking
Squarespace’s integrated spell checker can check the spelling of your blog entries and web pages before you post them online.
Multiple Editing Systems
Squarespace lets you edit using a visual HTML editor (in compatible browsers), a raw text editor, and two other text-based formatting languages that can make formatting your pages and entries simple and clean. Markdown and Textile, two of the systems that Squarespace supports, allow you to write in plain text and generate richly formatted XHTML pages that are both easy to read and maintain.
More Layout Options
Squarespaces has a number of designer layouts, created by top designers. We make these layouts available to premium account members only. As more layouts are released, they will become available for free to members with this feature.
Downloadable XML Backups
Squarespace can syndicate your site to a private XML backup feed. Downloading this feed ensures that you have a copy of all of your website’s valuable text and comments on your local machine.
Domain Mapping
Domain mapping allows domain owners to point their domain directly to public Squarespaces server in order to mask the squarespace.com domain. After setting up domain mapping, your website visitors will be unable to distinguish your website form one hosted using a custom solution.
URL Mapping
URL mapping allows you to create named URL resources within your website. By providing flexible URL mapping, you may create easy to follow links to the internals of your website that are easy to remember.
For example, it would be possible to map http://www.mysite.com/log/to your weblog, so that people accessing your site could remember the address for your weblog without any type of browser bookmark.
Multiple Members
Multiple individuals can have membership on this site. Members can access protected site resources, or perform privileged actions, depending on how you set up your site.
Multiple Editors
Editor accounts allow contributors to change information on your website. You may create multiple editors within any particular Squarespace account, all of which are automatically marked as the author of information they contribute to your site.
Member Subscriptions
Subscriptions allow members and editors to receive site updates over email, so they are instantly notified when information changes within your website.
One Step Publishing
One step publishing provides a way generate globally accessible URLs for your personal files extremely quickly. Given a direct link to the Squarespace One Step Publishing URL, you may simply either drag your files onto your browser window (from a compatible browser), or select files on your hard drive that you would like URLs created for. With one more click, you may access the URLs created for these files, which you may then embed in IM conversations or E-mails.
URLs are extremely easy to access, and thus any user with a standard web browser will be able to obtain your published files, whether or not they are behind a firewall or on a secure network.

A Squarespace Drop Box gives you a simple way to receive files via your website.
Advanced Editing
Advanced editing allows you to change the raw HTML behind Squarespace’s content templates. Upon customizing these templates, you may create a look and feel for your Squarespace site that contains entirely custom HTML, allowing you complete control over the appearance of your site, while still retaining the management capabilities of Squarespace.
Also, you may upload your own HTML files and images directly into your site, allowing for an experienced web developer to create a site that has structure that is not properly modeled by Squarespace’s module scheme.
SSL Security
This setting will ensure that all client logins to your site are conducted over SSL. If you are storing sensitive data in your Squarespace file modules, or would simply like a more secure forum for communication, SSL Security can provide what you’re looking for.
