Thanks for your email. I don't think the Ministry ever entirely disputed my story. the article is based on documentary evidence. The evidence shows that a growing amount of seafood exported to the US in 2007 turned up with residues of cancerous or dangerous drugs.
also, a large number of chinese scientists -- and also reports from the world bank and other environmental studies -- show that seafood is being grown in polluted and even toxic waters. the Chinese government's own studies show that many fish are killed each year because of being raised in toxic or polluted waters. Some survive in polluted waters; others are killed in toxic waters. those are not the opinion of me or the new york times but documented in studies by western organizations but also the chinese government.
