That's Business Process Executive Language for People,I got to know this new concept from the SYS-CON.A paper that I've printed,about six pages.This is my first time got to know such a concept,when I searched that by Google,I found that's a standard released by IBM & SAP long time ago,and that very moment I found myself is nothing but a new guy of the field of SOA.
No matter what kind of structure,it should focus on improving the process of business,saving time and energy of people.So,the BPEL4People is fully considered the activities of people.
I got the 'WS-BPEL Extension for People-BPEL4People',published by IBM & SAP,two leaders of SOA,and they are my dreaming companies to work in.By this paper,the current version of BPEL focuses on two parts.One is the model for executable business process that is used to specify automated business processes and executed by compliant engines.The other part is the observable behavior of Web Services.
In my opion,People is the most important factor in an application system,without fully considering what people should do in the system,then the system is meaningless to exsist.The aspect of how people interact with business processes must be properly modeled.
To give you a simple impression of the concept,here is something I copied from that paper:
