Supergirl has given the Chinese character "迷" a whole new meaning. You see words like "liang fen (凉粉), yumi (玉米)" all over TV, newspaper and on those message boards. It is something close to a religious cult- people fervently believe in something and they are so enthusiastic about it and they would do anything to increase their idol's popularity. Whoever has the biggest fan base is going to win the show. I could be wrong. But the way it is going....I am pretty sure YUMI- fans of Li Yuchun are going to be very happy. I don't really enjoy hearing words like "fensi (fans)" by the way.
Then how do you decribe someone who is ardently devoted to something that it resembles a kind of addiction?

When you say "he is the worm guy", you refer to someone who is into worms. Sometimes we use the word "freak". For example: He is a control (or controlling) freak.
But the word junkie also refers to a narcotics addict. (slang)
I am a tea junkie. I don't like drink coffee that much because I have this superstitious thing- coffee destroys your brain.

I am a liangfen, big fan of Zhang Liangying. Someone said the reason why she got less votes than other contestants is she attracts mature people (not the way Ji Minjia attracts 35+ people, no offense, she is a hell of singer)- people who want to see someone sing with her heart and soul instead of spending more time selling herself. You know Zhang has been through a lot and she understands much more about things than other contestants. I like the way she holds her head up- never compromise but that also puts her in compromising situations on the show. Aren't we selfish? We compromise all the time and we go against our principles and we want to see an upright girl fighting against pop culture? Maybe that is just an ideal.
