Rough translation of the passage:

Hot and sticky post: Students from rural areas can't pay college tuition?

College education is not rudimentary or elementary education. It is a luxury, not a necessity. Can't find any way to finance your college education? No big deal. There are various kinds of approaches to higher education: self-teaching classes (diploma or degree programs), TV universities or adult education. These are all decent ways of receiving higher education.

Those who come from rural areas and can't afford college education are already adults (over 18 years old). Is asking for help the only thing you can do? You exploit your parents and then take advantage of resources of our society. What have you done to help improve the status quo of our society? There are many graduates who come from rural areas every year. How many of them have gone back to where they are from and worked for the place, helped build a better tomorrow for their birthplaces? How many of them are willing to stay in the rural areas? Statisitics show the greater majority of them choose to do everything in their power to seek a job in the cities (or big cities). And they use "make contribution or do their part for the country" as an excuse.  But the truth is: your village needs you most. How much have you done to improve the lives of people in your village?

My Thoughts

This proposition is very thought-provoking, to say the least. I don't know who this writer is but I guess he must be from a big city. I don't think the writer is doing justice to the issue. It is easy to refute these people who are against mobility of the rural population: If you are not as educated as the students from the rural areas and you don't perform as well as they do in a particular job. Then you the city rat doesn't deserve to live in a big city, you should go to the countyside and raise the pigs. That may sound a bit rude. What I am trying to say is: This is my country and I have the freedom to choose where I want to be as long as I can be a useful person.

So ask yourself: do you deserve to live in a big city? Are you better qualified? Are you competitive enough? Should people be confined to one place only? Going to college, to some village kids, is the only way to change their lives once and for all. So I would encourage kids from rural areas to walk out their villages, see a bigger world. If you want to live and work in a big city, you have every right and reason to do that. I embrace you!
