www.syndic8.com.是来自Jeff Barr维护的一个news feed同步网站。现在这类同步网站已经很多了。不过看了他们的帮助文件，发现他们市从2001年开始开发至今的。从时间上来看算是早的了。其他的无非就是新闻种子同步网站所作的那一套，比较特殊的是，当你在通过Suggest添加了某个Rss种子之后，要经过一个考验期，才能在他们的Feeds部分看到你所添加的RSS种子公布的内容。下面是对他们考察一个Rss种子所用的状态说明：
| Desiring Syndication | | This is a site that we want to have syndicated. All we know about it is the URL to the site (not to the feed). |
| Evangelizing | | This is a site that was once in DesiringSyndication state. A particular Syndic8 user has volunteered to contact the site and to tell them all about syndication. |
| Polling | | This is a site that apparently has an RSS feed, and the URL of the feed is known to Syndic8. The site is polled 4 times per day and its stats are recorded. This is a probationary state. |
| Awaiting Approval | | This is a site that has been polled for a while and now meets the requirements to be marked as Syndicated. The requirements are: - Its current state is Polling.
- It has a site name.
- It has been polled at least 6 times.
- It has had at least one new story after the first poll.
- It has been live at least 75% of the time.
Sites in this state are presented to users with the Reviewer role for approval. |
| Waiting Scraping | | Sites in this state were formerly in the Evangelizing state. Even though contacted by a persuasive and diligent Syndic8 user, they declined to provide an RSS feed. Feeds are in this state while a user with the Scraper role does the work to create a feed by 'scraping' the HTML of the site. |
| Syndicated | | This is the "goal state". A feed in this state is polled, and is available on the master feed list. |
| Duplicate | | This state is for a feed that is effectively a duplicate of another feed in the database. |
| Dead | | This state is for a feed that has been officially declared dead. |
| Rejected | | This state is for a feed that was presented to a Syndic8 user for approval, but was rejected for some reason -- it could be a duplicate of an existing feed, an abandoned feed, or a log full of "Test" and "How does this work?" entries. |
| Awaiting Repair | | This state should be for feeds that are known to be broken. A Syndic8 user with the Fixer role should be working with the site to help them repair their feed. |
其中Syndicated是最佳状态，dead当然是一个最差状态。另外，在他们的
Feeds里面，还可以通过很多过滤条件来对Feedslist进行过滤，当然，这要求Feed必须支持他们的一些Meta标记，详细的内容只要在他们的
Feeds中随便找一个看一下详情就知道了。
知道这个网站是从一个RSS聚合软件作者的文章中了解的，感觉不错，例如，我在他们的Feeds中将过滤条件设置为Language=chinese,那么我就可以方便的浏览全部来自中文世界的Blog内容了，比去各个网站一个个看方便的多。从这一点来说，我觉得比那些搜索要好，毕竟，搜索要求我首先知道我的目的，但是多数情况下，阅读之前，我是不知道关键词的。^_^
